In all cases our liability will not exceed the cost of the item supplied.

Product descriptions and data sheets are supplied in good faith but in all cases it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure goods are suitable for their purpose for themselves and to independently verify any information supplied by ourselves.

3.1 Laser Components and Laser Class

Laser modules are supplied as OEM components (or unfinished products). The laser class will depend on the eventual application e.g. the power supply used, the housing, safety features etc. A laser warning sticker with the appropriate laser class should be added to the final product.

While classified as OEM devices, Odicforce laser modules conform to the wavelength and output power conditions of Class 2 /2M, Class 3R, Class 3B or Class 4 laser products as described in individual device information sheets.  Warning labels are normally attached to each device unless the size or shape makes this impractical. The requirements for labels are region specific and the correct labels must be fitted by the user for the region applicable before the equipment is put into operation. If information labels are hidden in the installed state, the user must ensure that additional labels are fitted at the point of installation.

These devices have been designed as complete laser components for OEM use and although their output powers have been set in accordance with BS(EN)60825 they are not certified lasers as defined in the specification for a final product. When incorporated into a piece of equipment, it may be necessary for additional safety features to be added before the equipment fully complies with the standard. Final classification will be dependent on the way the laser is used within the product, including access to the laser component and beam. Any final product that incorporates a laser must be certified in its own right, irrespective of whether the incorporated laser is certified or not by the manufacturer.

When incorporated into a final product, for sale to the public, as part of the process of CE marking, all laser and LED products sold in Europe must be certified to EN 60825-1. Manufacturers can self certify their equipment to EN 60825-1, however, many manufacturers prefer to have independent verification of their compliance with the classification requirements.

3.2 Safety

All laser devices produce beams of intense monochromatic light which can present potential biological hazards. Laser products are classified to take account of the amount of laser beam to which you can get access when the product is in normal use or during routine user maintenance. In most circumstances laser safety eyewear is required if there is a possibility of direct exposure or specular reflectance from a laser beam higher than Class 2.  A laser product may contain a laser of a higher class and this may be accessible during servicing. Labels on the product should provide guidance on the laser beam hazard. Full details about the classification scheme can be found in the current British Standard on Laser Safety, BS EN 60825-1, as amended or the international standard IEC60825-1.

IEC60825-1 ‘Safety of laser products Part 1: Equipment classification, requirements and user's guide’

This is the fundamental laser safety document* to which all other laser safety documents* refer. It defines Maximum Permissible Exposures (MPEs), Accessible Emission limits (AELs), laser classes and measurement conditions, labelling, engineering controls etc.

In no event shall responsibility of ODICFORCE LASERS for any act exceed the individual price of the product on which liability is asserted.

3.5 SUITABILITY FOR USE

ODICFORCE LASERS shall not be responsible for conformity with any standards, codes, or regulations that apply to the combination of products in the customer's application or use of the product.

At the customer's request and expense, ODICFORCE LASERS can engage or suggest applicable third party test houses who can furnish certification documents identifying ratings and limitations of use that apply to the products. This information by itself is not sufficient for a complete determination of the suitability of the products in combination with the end product, machine, system, or other application or use.

The following are some examples of applications for which particular attention must be given. This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all possible uses of the products, nor is it intended to imply that the uses listed may be suitable for the products:

• Nuclear energy control systems, combustion systems, railroad systems, aviation systems, medical equipment, amusement machines, vehicles, safety equipment, and installations subject to separate industry or government regulations.

• Systems, machines, and equipment that could present a risk to life or property. Please know and observe all prohibitions of use applicable to the products.

NEVER USE THE PRODUCTS FOR AN APPLICATION INVOLVING SERIOUS RISK TO LIFE OR PROPERTY WITHOUT ENSURING THAT THE SYSTEM AS A WHOLE HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO ADDRESS THE RISKS, AND THAT THE ODICFORCE LASER PRODUCT IS PROPERLY RATED AND INSTALLED FOR THE INTENDED USE WITHIN THE OVERALL EQUIPMENT OR SYSTEM.

3.6 CHANGE IN SPECIFICATIONS

Product specifications and accessories may be changed at any time based on improvements and other reasons.

It is our practice to change model numbers when published ratings or features are changed, or when significant construction changes are made. However, some specifications of the product may be changed without any notice. When in doubt, special model numbers may be assigned to fix or establish key specifications for your application on your request.

3.7 DIMENSIONS AND WEIGHTS

Dimensions and weights are nominal and are not to be used for manufacturing purposes, even when tolerances are shown.

3.8 ERRORS AND OMISSIONS

Information sheets have been carefully checked and are believed to be accurate; however, no responsibility is assumed for clerical, typographical, or proofreading errors or omissions.

3.9 PERFORMANCE DATA

Performance data is provided as a guide for the user in determining suitability and does not constitute a warranty. It may represent the result of ODICFORCE LASERS test conditions, and the users must correlate it to actual application requirements. Actual performance is subject to the ODICFORCE LASERS Warranty and Limitations of Liability.

4. Payment and Delivery
Items will normally be packed and dispatched within two working days following the day payment is received.
The shipping weight shown in descriptions sometimes varies from the actual weight to account for packing and conditions of carriage, in these cases the actual weight is shown in the detailed description.

WEEE compliance: You may return any unwanted batteries or electrical components supplied by us (or the item they are bought to replace) to us for disposal.
Most supermarkets and shops that sell batteries will have collection bins for used batteries, and some town halls, libraries or schools may also set up collection points. End-users may find stores in their local area more accessible.

10. Registration for Purchasers of  (Professional) Class 3B and Class 4 Portable Lasers
We want to ensure that all our customers are fully aware of the safety precautions required for the safe use of lasers and after discussions with our local Trading Standards Office we have adopted the following policy:

We have split the sales of our hand-held lasers into sections headed:

  • Laser Pointers (Class 2 lasers) that are generally considered safe in normal use
and
  • Professional Lasers (Class 3R, 3B and Class 4 lasers)
Class 3R lasers are generally considered "safe with caution" however Class 3B lasers can be dangerous if used inappropriately and Class 4 lasers need special care.  This makes them unsuitable for use as general pointers and the UK Health Protection Agency advises their application should be restricted to professional or experienced users who are aware of the appropriate safety precautions that should be taken.
We require all potential purchasers of these products to register on this site before making a purchase to confirm that they are aware of the safety precautions required. This information will be retained with our accounting records but will not be passed to third parties.

11. Buyers Use

Buyer assumes sole responsibility for analyzing and determining the suitability of any services and goods supplied by Seller including all parts and components and Buyer agrees that it is not relying on Seller in making such determination even if Seller provided assistance, guidance or design. Buyer assumes full responsibility for any particular use or purpose. Buyer will not order or use any goods or services unless it is satisfied that the goods and services are suitable for Buyer’s use and conform to all of its requirements. Buyer agrees to store and use all goods and services in a safe manner. Seller is cautioning Buyer that not all products are stable under all operating and storage conditions.

12. Shipping Restrictions
We are unable to ship lithium batteries overseas individually. In some cases we can ship lithium batteries that are purchased with a matching product if they are installed inside the product and we can ensure the product cannot be activated in transit.

If we receive an order that we are unable to ship for any reason we reserve the right to reject the order and refund the payment made. Orders are not deemed to have been accepted until they have been checked and shipped.
